When you become a Bebat participant, we ask you to sign a Participation Agreement. As of 2026, this Participation Agreement has been updated in response to the European Battery Regulation 2023/1542. Read here what this means for you as a participant, or if you would like to join Bebat.
What is the Participation Agreement?
The Participation Agreement is the official contract through which you become a Bebat participant. By signing the agreement, you confirm that your organisation agrees to the terms and arrangements regarding the declaration and/or collection and recycling of batteries.
Why is there a new Participation Agreement?
In the course of 2025, several new rules came into force following the European Battery Regulation 2023/1542. Because of this, we also had to amend our existing Participation Agreement. Read more about the European Battery Regulation 2023/1542 in this article.
To remain administratively compliant, we ask all our participants to read and sign this new version. This ensures their file is complete and in line with the new regulations, without any further worries.
How do I sign the (new) Participation Agreement?
Do you want to join Bebat as a new participant?
- During the registration process, you can indicate who should sign the Participation Agreement (yourself or an authorised person).
- An email will then be sent to digitally sign the Participation Agreement. This will always be the most recent version of the agreement.
You can easily join Bebat online.
Are you already a Bebat participant?
- The new Participation Agreement will be sent out soon to our existing participants. You will then receive a message via various communication channels asking you to sign the new Participation Agreement. These notifications will also appear in MyBebat.
- You can click through and indicate online who the authorised person is to sign the new agreement.
- Afterwards, an email will be sent to digitally sign the new Participation Agreement.
