How do I use the new Bebat codes for monthly declarations?

For declarations from 1 January 2026 onwards, you must use the new Bebat codes. These have been introduced in response to the new battery categories set out by the European Battery Regulation. The good news is that we have reduced the number of Bebat codes for monthly declarations by 30%.

Which categories are there?

To determine to which category the batteries you make available on the market belong, we have developed a decision tree. You can find it here.

Where can I find the new codes?

The list of new Bebat codes, including the specifications of the batteries and the corresponding contributions that you must use from the January 2026 declaration, can be found here. The filter functions in this list allow you to easily find the correct new Bebat code.

Note: The existing Bebat codes and the 2025 contributions will remain in force until and including December 2025.

To help you convert from the current to the new Bebat codes, we have created a conversion table. This table also contains instructions for its use.

Take this opportunity to check whether your current Bebat codes are correct and match the specifications of the battery you declare. This way, you can avoid errors when converting to the new codes.
