When do you get audited?

In the context of regional environmental legislation, Bebat is obliged to audit its participants at least every three years

An audit is a check of the declarations for the previous calendar year, but Bebat also has the right to carry out audits for the 3 preceding calendar years. Based on the audit data, Bebat can check whether the declarations have been submitted correctly. The obligations in this respect are set out in Article 6 of the Regulations to the Participation Agreement.

There are two options: an online audit or a full audit. Bebat decides which audit should be performed in your company.

The costs of the audit are covered by Bebat, unless this audit results in:

  • An adjustment of the paid Environmental and/or Administrative contributions of at least €1,000, OR;
  • An adjustment of at least 5% of the established contributions for the period in question.

You will receive the results of the audit via letter and/or e-mail, including information on any corrections. In the case of corrections, you may still receive an invoice or credit note to compensate for declarations that were submitted incorrectly.
