As a Bebat participant, you are legally required to mention the environmental contribution on your sales invoices and credit notes to Belgian professional customers.
Thanks to this regulation, authorities (and your customers) can check if you are a Bebat participant and if you pass on the environmental contribution. It is not allowed to mention on invoices that the Bebat contribution is included, without further specifications.
How to correctly mention the environmental contribution on your invoice?
- Put the amount of the environmental contribution in a separate line/section.
- Use the correct term 'environmental contribution'.
- The calculated amount with 3 decimal places can be rounded to 2 decimal places according to the correct rounding rules.
You only mention this contribution on documents for batteries that are put on the Belgian market. For foreign companies, this obligation does not apply: they do not pay the Bebat contribution and should not receive invoices or credit notes mentioning the Bebat contribution.
